Multifunctional Garden Room - Petersfield, Hampshire

PROJECT OVERVIEW

A superb Garden Room has been designed and built which replaced an old garage and log store.   The building will provide the family with practical additional space with views over the garden.

Building size 7.4 x 4.2m which contains a large room together with a useful shower room – creating a valuable extension to the family home.

A useful airing cupboard houses a 125 litre pressurised stored water cylinder, this provides the hot water to the shower and basin and alleviates any pressure dropping issues when someone in the main house is also using water.

EGR provides a total turnkey solution to include all the electrics, drainage, foul and water connections, together with reinforced concrete foundations.  The ground works were extensive with a pumping station to take the foul to the mains and lengthy trenching containing the water supply, armoured cable, foul pipes and cat6 data cable.

A large electric opening Velux roof light brings light into the main room, operated via a remote with rain sensor – this is a lovely additional extra to have in a garden building.

Clad in a Cedral Weatherboard in white on the soffit/facia, rear, left and right elevations which is maintenance free and comes in many different colours.  Render finish on the front of the building which ties in with the house – this is becoming very popular.

Finished off with anthracite grey windows and french doors.  Laminate flooring, fully plastered and painted internally for a contemporary feel.

Planning permission was granted as the site lies within a settlement policy boundary as set out in the adopted local plan, also within a conservation area.  Building Regulations on the drainage and connections have been signed off by Building Control.

EGR handle both Planning and Building Control applications on our clients behalf.  All buildings by EGR are permanent and comply to Schedule 2 of the Building Regulations 2010.
