Planning and Building Control

Planning and Building Control

SERVICE OVERVIEW

Buying a garden room can be a daunting task with all the rules around planning and building regulations, please feel free to call us to clarify these rules in relation to your Garden Room project.

Planning

We offer experience and advice on the regulations which may affect you. If your garden room requires planning permission, we can liaise with the planning department and submit applications on your behalf. We have a 95% success rate in planning application approvals.

Planning permission regulations were revised in October 2008. This now means that if you comply with a basic set of Permitted Development rules, planning permission is not required. You can check out the details at The Planning Regulations Website

Building Control

If required we will arrange Building Control sign off on your project by co-ordinating the necessary inspections during the build process. Our garden rooms are permanent structures and comply to Schedule 2 of the Building Regulations 2010.  This is important when coming to sell your home as the garden room will be included in your property valuation if it has been inspected and signed off by Building Control.  Check FAQ’s to see if your building requires Building Control.
